Head Pastor Michael Bentley
After 15 years as a graphic designer and illustrator, Michael was called to preach the good news of Jesus Christ [Acts 10.43]. He received his Masters of Divinity (MDiv) from Mid-America Reformed Seminary in 2009 (in conjunction with Calvin Theological Seminary), and was ordained as Minister of The Word in the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA) in 2010.
Michael and Stacy were married in 1996. Stacy works as a nurse and as a tutor for children with dyslexia. They (mostly Stacy) have homeschooled their 5 children since kindergarten. While ministering in New York, Michael and Stacy became certified foster parents, and currently serve on the Leadership Council for the SafeFamilies Ministry in St. Louis. Michael spends any spare time working on his house, reading, playing chess, and watching movies with his family.
Michael was born in Lindsay, CA, but has lived in too many places to count. Raised as an atheist, he credits his parents for being taught to seek out truth in life where ever it may be. Michael is a product of the dedicated evangelism and discipleship of his Christian friends in high school. Being found and saved by Jesus at 15, Michael is deeply grateful for the ministry and friendships he found at North Iowa Area Youth for Christ as a teenager.
Michael and Stacy have served as Jr. High School and High School youth leaders at several congregations through the years. Through seminary in the South Chicago area, Michael interned for 2 years at Munster Christian Reformed Church in Munster, IN. After Ordination, Michael served as Pastor at Hollandale CRC in Minnesota, Christ Community CRC in East Islip, NY (Long Island), and currently serves as Pastor of Trinity CRC in Maryland Heights (St. Louis).
